Woodfarm Social Lunch Club is situated in Woodfarm Sports Pavilion. The pavilion is in the west of Giffnock, near Thornliebank, overlooking Woodfarm playing fields. The Lunch Club takes place every Thursday from 10.30am till 2.30pm. Woodfarm, one of the original Lunch Clubs, was established in 1979. The convenor is Carole McBeath, who organises the lunch club along with a team of nine helpers. An Age Concern Eastwood mini-bus picks up the members and takes them home at the end of the day.
Lunch, tea and coffee are provided. Pre-lunch activities include cards and dominoes. Board games are also very popular. Members take part in chair exercises before lunch. After lunch there is a range of activities – quizzes are a favourite. Beetle drives, speakers and entertainers all contribute to make the afternoons varied and entertaining.
If you are interested in joining the social lunch club, or helping out as a volunteer, please phone our number (0141 638 2158 – if it’s the answering machine we’ll get back to you as soon as possible) or e-mail us at: email@example.com.
